Casey Anthony Hopes To 'Someday Redeem Herself'

A week after her psychological treatment began, Casey Anthony is doing "well," according to a source close to her, who adds, "She hopes she will someday redeem herself and live a productive life."

The public, meanwhile, may get to see another side of the infamous Florida resident. In court on Wednesday, a media organization argued for the release of a jailhouse video of Casey watching TV news reports saying police found remains, which turned out to be her missing daughter, 2-year-old Caylee.

According to detectives, Anthony doubled over and hyperventilated before asking for a sedative in the video.

Her reaction is striking because the remains had not yet been identified. Did she know the remains belonged to Caylee?

The tape was sealed by a judge in 2009, after he said it would be "inflammatory" and prejudicial to a jury. Now that the trial is over – and Anthony has been acquitted of murder – several media outlets say that the video should become public record.

Judge Perry is expected to rule on the matter this week.

The above article makes me sick. I didn't really want to even post it. Redeem herself? Never.
I wonder who 'her people' are that are doing this talking?

Judge grants motion to unseal Casey jail video

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The motion to unseal video that recorded Casey Anthony's reaction in jail when she was told that a child's remains were found was granted on Friday.
An attorney for an Orlando television station argued on Wednesday that the video is a public record. Casey's lead attorney, Jose Baez, contended that it was protected under medical privacy laws because she was given drugs to help calm her down at the time.
The tape has been sealed since June 2009 because of fears it would affect Casey's ability to receive a fair trial.
Casey was acquitted in July of killing her daughter Caylee Anthony, but found guilty on three counts of lying to police.

Post by Nama Fri Sep 30, 2011 4:31 pm

Jailhouse video of Casey Anthony's response upon learning that the remains of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie were found in the woods near her home in December 2008 has been released.

Chief Judge Belvin Perry ordered the unsealing of the video, agreeing with a local TV station that the once-secret recording is a public record and the original reason for sealing it — concerns it would influence jurors in her murder trial — is no longer a factor.

Anthony was acquitted in July of charges she killed her daughter in 2008.

"The jail video ….is a public record subject to disclosure. The reason for sealing — Ms. Anthony's right to a fair trial — is no longer applicable…" Perry wrote in his order.

He also said there is no expectation of privacy in jail.

The Orlando Sentinel is downloading the video right now and will put it on its website as soon as possible.

Casey Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez said today that the bigger issue for him is not the content of the video "but the actions at the jail taken by the sheriff's department."

He said Anthony was taken in front of a monitor showing the coverage of the discovery of the remains and recorded to gauge her response and perhaps elicit an incriminating statement, which did not happen.

"I find that to be torture," Baez said today. "I guess it's Orange County's version of water boarding."

While that recording was being done, Baez said he was at the jail and denied access to his client.

"I was flat out denied the ability to see her, and it was not a pretty scene," Baez said.

The function of the jail, Baez said, is to secure and protect people awaiting trial, not to "inflict emotional stress on someone."

The recording "was so egregious that even the prosecutors didn't attempt to introduce the tape into the trial."

Baez would not characterize his interpretation of the video or describe his client's demeanor following the episode. "The video speaks for itself," he said.

Today's release was prompted by a legal motion to unseal the video filed by WKMG-TV Channel 6.

The video is about 15 minutes long and it has poor quality, appearing as if it was videotaped from another monitor.

On the day Caylee's remains were found, jail officials — responding to a request from the Sheriff's Office — moved Anthony from her cell to a medical facility, where a TV showed reports about the discovery.

A video camera in the medical facility recorded her reaction.

An Orange County Corrections lieutenant told detectives Anthony breathed rapidly, her hands became sweaty and red blotches appeared on her neck. She asked for a sedative.

Those reactions are not apparent on the video released today, possibly because of the poor quality.

Anthony's defense team, including Baez, fought the release of the recording.

In a hearing Wednesday, Baez argued that Casey was being evaluated by medical staff while she was watching the coverage.

He said a "medical transaction" occurred and the tape should not be released due to medical privacy laws.

Perry said during a hearing Wednesday that the recording occurred in a waiting room.

"Ms. Anthony had a right to privacy in the medical facility," Baez said. He also called the video "some form of torture" when arguing before Perry.

WKMG's attorney Jack Kirschenbaum began Wednesday's hearing by telling Perry there is no doubt the video is a public record.

The court in June 2009 decided the recording might be prejudicial as Anthony headed to trial, he said, but now, there is no impediment to its release, he said.

Perry agreed.

A Florida judge today ordered the release of jailhouse video showing Casey Anthony's reaction to news that the remains of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, were found in December 2008 in woods near her home.

Update at 5:47 p.m. ET: The Orlando Sentinel has posted the video. Watch it here.

Update at 5:28 p.m. ET: An Orange County Corrections lieutenant told detectives that Anthony was breathing rapidly, her hands became sweaty, red blotches appeared on her neck and she asked for a sedative, the Orlando Sentinel writes. But none of that is apparent on the poor-quality video.

Anthony's defense team had fought the release of the recording. WKMG-TV and theSentinel argued in court that the video is a public record.

Original post: Jailhouse video of Casey Anthony responding to news that her 2-year-old daughter's remains were found in December 2008 must be released, a Florida judge has ruled.

"The jail video …. is a public record subject to disclosure. The reason for sealing — Ms. Anthony's right to a fair trial — is no longer applicable…," Chief Orange County Judge Belvin Perry wrote today, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

The paper said it would post the 15-minute video as soon as possible. It described the video as poor quality that apparently was videotaped from another monitor.

I honestly beieve the jury should have seen this - it was absolutely relevant to the case and for the prosecution. I dont understand these rules that
dont help convict the guilty!

New video of Casey Anthony learning remains found
Posted: 06:41 PM ET

While this blog is dedicated to the Conrad Murray trial, we know many In Session and HLN viewers have also been very closely following the Casey Anthony story. There was a major update in that case today so we've included the following post to be sure that those interested were up-to-speed on this latest development.

For the very first time, video has been released which shows Casey Anthony reacting to the news that human remains have been found near her family's home.

Judge Belvin Perry agreed Friday to release the jailhouse video of the moment Anthony learned about the discovery on December 11, 2008. It shows her sitting down, watching the news on a nearby TV, then quickly doubling over and dropping her head into her hands.

A short time later, some officers come in to talk to Casey and take her into another room. A man who looks like Jose Baez is then seen sitting with Casey at a table. We cannot confirm that is in fact Baez. Yes it IS!! Another unidentified man is also seated at the table.

Here is an important clarification on the context of this video: It's indeed Casey's reaction to news that remains had been found near her home, but it wasn't until December 19 that those remains were positively identified as those of Caylee. This is the reason the video was not allowed to be viewed by the jury at her trial; it was ruled too prejudicial.

This video was sealed so this is the first time the public is getting a chance to see this candid moment.

Here are some of the highlights from the judge’s order:

Judge Belvin Perry rejected the defense’s argument that publicly releasing the video, taken at the jail’s medical facility Dec. 11, 2008, would violate Casey Anthony’s privacy.

At the time the video was taken, Anthony was in the waiting area of the medical facility, where personnel provided her with a sedative.

Perry found releasing the video does not violate Anthony’s privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) because the video does not “constitute a medical record or other form of health care data relating to [Anthony’s] evaluation or treatment.”

Perry also ruled that there is “no reasonable expectation of privacy in jail… the fact that [Anthony] was sitting in a waiting area of the medical facility did not convert the incident into a medical evaluation.”

The initial reason for sealing the video (to protect Anthony’s right to a fair trial) no longer applies because the trial is “completed and she has been acquitted of all charges other than lying to law enforcement officers.”

I agree that the Jury should have been given the opportunity to view this video.
It should have been played along with the video of the divers at Blanchard Park, then they could have seen for themselves the contrast of her reactions.
She knew the things that were found at the park didn't belong to Caylee and she knew what was discovered down the street from the Anthony's house was her daughter.
The differences in her reactions said it all.

She can undergo psychological treatment until the end of time.
The lying whore has no redeeming qualities, never has had them and never will.
They're reporting these things to the press because they want the public to feel compassion for the person who got away with killing her child, as far as I'm concerned that's never going to happen either!

ORLANDO, Fla. — Casey Anthony told her probation officer this week that she is unemployed and hasn't used any illegal drugs, according to a report released Tuesday by authorities.

Anthony reported to her probation officer Monday at an undisclosed location in Florida, the state Department of Corrections said in the report.

She told the probation officer that she has had no source of income during the past 30 days. Her probation order requires her to "work diligently at a lawful occupation."

But Florida Department of Corrections spokeswoman Gretl Plessinger said being jobless doesn't put Anthony in violation of her probation. Thousands of other probationers are without jobs, given Florida's 10.7 percent unemployment rate.

"Probation officers encourage offenders to explore their options as it relates to employment," Plessinger said in an email. "Employment status is reviewed monthly by probation officers."

Anthony's defense attorney, Joe Baez, said last month on Fox News' "Geraldo At Large" that Anthony was undergoing therapy and counseling. But Anthony checked "no" on the probation report form that asked her if she had attended mental health or therapy programs in the past month.

Anthony said on the form released to the media that she hasn't attended educational or vocational classes.

Anthony also told the probation officer that she has not used any illegal drugs and that she has consumed alcohol but not to excess. Anthony developed a party-girl reputation after photos taken in the weeks after Caylee disappeared showed her partying with friends and participating in a nightclub's "hard body" contest.

Anthony was acquitted in July on charges of murdering her daughter, Caylee. The 25-year-old was convicted of four misdemeanor counts of lying to authorities. She told officers a baby sitter had kidnapped the child. Authorities later learned the baby sitter never existed.

Anthony currently is serving probation at an undisclosed location in Florida for unrelated check fraud charges. The details of where she is serving her probation have been kept secret because of concerns for her safety. A judge granted the Department of Corrections the ability to keep Anthony's probation details confidential even though they are part of the public record in most other cases.

Anthony is required to check in monthly with a probation officer.

Casey Anthony's defense attorney said his client and a suspect in another high-profile murder trial are both "all-American girls," according to a report.
Jose Baez said Anthony and Amanda Knox each seem like "the girl next door," Orlando television station WESH reported.
Baez told WESH that he thinks their "all-American" looks "contributed to the media fascination" with the cases.
In July, Anthony was acquitted of a murder charge nearly three years after her 2-year-old daughter Caylee was found dead.
And just last week, Knox had her conviction overturned by an Italian court in connection with the death of fellow exchange student Meredith Kercher.
Baez said watching the Knox drama unfold reminded him of the summertime trial that ended with his client's acquittal.
"(It was) a very surreal moment for me because I remembered being in that situation -- where a young woman's life hung in the balance -- and in a split second, her life was given back to her," he told gossip site TMZ, according to WESH.

No way can he even compare Amanda Knox and her trial to the LMS's! He just got lucky with the stupid and non-caring jurors. What a big head he has now. Wait until he loses miserably the next time and his 'all american girl/boy' ends up frying.

CASEY ANTHONY
NBC Finds Clever Way
Around Paying for Interview

The honchos at NBC -- the C stands for crafty -- think they figured out a way to snag an interview with Casey Anthony without paying a red cent, and make her a wealthy woman at the same time.

We've learned an NBC news producer has reached out to people in the literary world, trying to score a book deal for Anthony. The producer has contacted literary agents and others, telling them if he scored a book deal for Casey, she'd give the network a 1-hour, primetime special ... portions of which would also run on "Today."

The producer makes it clear -- NBC couldn't pay a cent for the interview. But he is gung-ho about the book deal, even representing that Casey wants up front money.

Jose Baez, Casey's lawyer, tells TMZ ... he has full knowledge of the producer's efforts, but says, "I'm not involved in that process. I did not entice him to do it."

Baez was quick to add, "Casey is not ready to do an interview."

We tried multiple times to get a comment from NBC -- so far, no luck.

Love the above pic.

Can you see Casey writing a book? Even if she had a ghost writer, what would she say? It would be all lies, any publishing company giving her a huge advance would be foolish, when they see how few people will be willing to spend money to read MORE of her lies.

LOL it will be on the list of FREE Kindle downloads weeks after it comes out. Haha.

I think she should write a book with that attorney that fawned all over and and ho hummed when Joy Behar asked her if she would allow TMLS to watch her kids. Name escapes me.

The one with that hair. Then she had a makeover right after the trial was over. Can't think of her name either, maybe Sims?

And what a "vague" makeover that was! Her hair still looks like shit. She was quite a piece of work, that woman!

Her name was Dorothy Clay-Sims.

PUBLISHERS TO CASEY ANTHONY:
HELL NO!!!!

The NBC producer trying to score a book deal for Casey Anthony may be S.O.L. ... because the biggest names in the publishing biz tell TMZ ... they want absolutely NOTHING to do with tot mom.

We broke the story ... an NBC news producer has contacted literary agents and told them Casey has agreed to do a TV interview with the network if he can lock up a book deal.

But according to the three publishing powerhouses -- that ain't happening ... just check out the statements we received regarding a possible Casey Anthony publishing deal:

Simon and Schuster: “We are 100% not interested. We are NOT NOT NOT interested. Simon & Schuster is not publishing, and has never intended to publish, any book by Casey Anthony, her family, or any member of her team.

Harper Collins: “We are planning on publishing the Prosecutor’s book who was involved in the Casey Anthony case, so we have no plans in releasing a Casey Anthony book. We’re sticking with the prosecutor.”

Penguin Group: "We have no plans on doing a book deal with Casey Anthony."

Another publisher went so far as to say, "Hell no ... it's blood money."

Did Casey Anthony survive attempt on her life?
Caylee and Casey Anthony, Dr. Phil, HLN, Jose Baez, Joy Behar, NBC, Today — posted by halboedeker on November, 16 2011 4:34 PM

Bodyguards moved Casey Anthony after a death threat was posted at the home where she’s staying, The National Enquirer reports.

The Daily Mail in Britain picked up the report and headlined that Anthony “survived assassination attempt and fled after safe house was discovered.” But assassination attempts are usually reserved for political leaders.

The Daily Mail also described the would-be assailant as a “hit man” and said Anthony had a “crack security team.”

Anthony is serving a year’s probation for check fraud somewhere in Florida.

The Enquirer reports that the death threat read: “I know where you are, I’m coming to put a bullet through your brain.”

A source, described as an “insider,” told The Enquirer: ”There are plenty of people who want to kill Casey because they believe she got away with murdering little Caylee. Her bodyguards rushed her off in the middle of the night to another safe house, a prearranged safe hideout that was available in the event of such an emergency.”

I have requested a comment from defense attorney Jose Baez.

In July, Anthony was acquitted of murder in the 2008 death of her daughter, Caylee.

Former prosecutor Jeff Ashton has urged people to ignore Anthony. “I would hope that people leave Casey Anthony alone,” Ashton told NBC’s “Today,” a message he has sent before. “I don’t want anyone to do anything to Casey or have anything to do with her. My advice to people who are angry about this is to ignore Casey.”

Ashton is promoting his book, “Imperfect Justice.” He visited ”Issues With Jane Velez-Mitchell” and “The Joy Behar Show,” both on HLN, on Tuesday. He talked to ”Dr. Phil” in a show that aired today.

Thread #1 (07/ 17 ~ ?) Out of Jail... No Probation Discussion on this thread, please. - Page 15 Empty Casey Anthony 'survived assassination attempt and fled after safe house was discovered'

By Rachel Quigley
Last updated at 10:10 PM on 16th November 2011

Casey Anthony is lucky to be alive after allegedly surviving an assassination attempt at her Florida safe house.

Casey's 'panic-stricken' bodyguards had to pull her out of the firing line and whisk her to an emergency hideout in the middle of the night before an assassin 'put a bullet through her brain', The National Enquirer reported.

Casey, who has been dubbed America's most-hated mom, has been in hiding since she was released from jail following a shock not guilty plea at the murder trial of her daughter Caylee on July 5.

She was released from jail on July 17 and since then, thousands of hate mail and threatening emails have been pouring in to her lawyers' offices from all over the world.

Despite efforts by her crack security team to protect her, a hit man allegedly located her hideout and stuck a death warrant to her door saying: 'I know where you are, I'm coming to put a bullet through your brain.'

The Enquirer said it was eerily similar to an email threat the 25-year-old's bodyguards previously received saying: 'I want her dead! if she knew where she was I would do it myself!'
'Smarmy': Mr Ashton says he genuinely dislikes Miss Anthony's defence attorney Jose Baez who he claims encouraged his client to be unhelpful with police during the search for her daughter

The threatening message - which was allegedly pinned to the door - was said to 'set off a complete panic' and the security team had to assume that Casey's head would be blown off the moment she stepped outside the house.

CASEY ANTHONY THE MOVIE?

The Lifetime cable network is developing a possible TV movie about the sensational murder trial of Casey Anthony.

Fox Television Studios optioned the film and television rights to the book Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony, written by retired prosecutor Jeff Ashton.

It's not known when the project, which is said to be in the early stages, will air. Variety reports that Lifetime has not greenlit the film yet.

In the book, Ashton takes jabs at Anthony's defense lawyers and jurors, calling lead defense attorney Jose Baez 'smarmy' and displaying an unflattering view of the jurors.

According to People, the film would tell the story from the prosecution's point of view, detailing the three years Ashton and his team spent preparing and prosecuting the Florida mother.

A source told the Enquirer: 'There are plenty of people who want to kill Casey because they believe she got away with murdering little Caylee.

'Her bodyguards rushed her off in the middle of the night to another safe house a prearranged safe hideout that was available in the event of such an emergency.'

The insider said decoy vehicles were also used so the 'killer' would not know which one Casey was in, as they are said to realise how determined Casey's enemies are to kill her and had to take every precaution.

'The fact she is still hidden and still alive is testimony to just how good her team of bodyguards are. They're the best, but it was a very close call.'

Because of the terms of her probation for cheque fraud, Casey must stay in Florida for one year and report every month to a probation officer.

This is not the first time her security team have moved her. According to the Enquirer, she was first hidden on St George Island off the coast of northwest Florida before allegedly being moved to a rural location near Gainsville and a condo in New Smyrna Beach.

Casey's lawyers later claimed Caylee Marie Anthony, 2, drowned in the family swimming pool

Dead: Casey's lawyers later claimed Caylee Marie Anthony, two, drowned in the family swimming pool but many believe she was murdered by her mother

Last week it emerged that Casey’s lawyers tried to persuade the 25-year-old to accept a plea deal towards the end of her murder trial.

Jeff Ashton, a retired prosecutor from the case who revealed all in an explosive new book, said that while the Florida mother 'may have deserved' the death penalty if she had been convicted of killing her two-year-old daughter, he didn’t believe a jury would ever have agreed to the sentence.

Writing in Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony, he said he would have been pleased if the prosecution team had left the punishment off the table.

Casey Anthony Survives Assassination Attempt!

by Jessica LeFevre on November 16, 2011

Apparently there is someone out in the world who wanted to take out “Tot Mom” Casey Anthony. So much, in fact, that they’ve tried to kill her, but alas, she has survived. All of this, according to the National Enquirer’s latest issue.

According to their reports, a killer wanted to put a bullet through her brain.

Who is paying for all this expert body guard protection, numerous safe houses and decoy vehicles? Better not be tax payer dollars, murdering a baby and getting away with it should not make one eligible for such expensive protection and treatment.

I agree with Nite...I doubt there has been any real attempts or threats. If anyone wants to "put a bullet through her brain" they will have to shoot her in the arse!

Dr. G revisits Casey Anthony science in TLC special
Thread #1 (07/ 17 ~ ?) Out of Jail... No Probation Discussion on this thread, please. - Page 15 TTT
Dr. Jan Garavaglia says she wanted to be done with the Casey Anthony case.
“I never wanted to think about that case again, but I keep getting asked about it,” said the chief medical examiner of Orange and Osceola counties, who testified at the murder trial last summer. So the star of “Dr. G: Medical Examiner” is taping a TLC special on the Anthony case that will premiere Jan. 1.
“It’s more about my take on the science I was involved in,” Garavaglia said.
At the trial, Garavaglia testified about why Caylee Marie Anthony’s death was listed as a “homicide due to undetermined means.”
She said that decision was the “only logical conclusion … the circumstances of death did not fit anything but a homicide.” She cited the delay in reporting the child’s disappearance, the body’s disposal in a swampy area and the duct tape with the remains.
“There’s sound information that can be gained from the science,” Garavaglia said of the special. “I don’t know about other aspects of the case or things done outside my office. I don’t know anything about that smell science. There is some really good information we gathered from looking at the data.”
But when asked to comment on the upcoming television special, defense attorney Jose Baez took the opportunity to blast Garavaglia’s science, as he did at trial.
“Dr. G needs a TV special to explain her science because her testimony was not based on science,” Baez said in an email. “All three reasons she used to give her ‘opinion’ that it was a homicide did not require any medical training whatsoever. That is why the jury rejected it.”
In July, Anthony was acquitted of murder in the 2008 death of her daughter.
The working title for the TLC special is “The True Story of Caylee Anthony.”
“They ask my opinion about the verdict, but my opinion doesn’t amount to a hill of beans,” Garavaglia said. “The peripheral aspects of this case, I’m not up on as much as other people.”
So the program turned to former prosecutor Jeff Ashton, WFTV-Channel 9 legal analyst Bill Sheaffer and Amy Pavuk of the Orlando Sentinel.
“I have a lot of respect for her. I have a lot of respect for her testimony,” Sheaffer said of Garavaglia. “I think she testified accurately and truthfully. It was a dry-bones case. She did not embellish.”
The program also interviews forensic anthropologist John Schultz of the University of Central Florida, forensic anthropologist Mike Warren of the University of Florida and toxicologist Bruce Goldberger of the University of Florida.
Garavaglia cited a couple of topics she discussed for the special: Should Caylee’s skull should have been opened? Anthropologists thought it wasn’t necessary, and she agreed. Should Garavaglia have done a diatom test (also called a drowning test) to check for small algae in the corpse’s tissue? Caylee had no tissue left to test, Garavaglia said.
Will the defense be represented in the TLC show? “It’s not about the defense,” Garavaglia said. Instead, Garavaglia said she sees the program as a chance to offer a rebuttal.
“Things got out there that I wasn’t able to answer,” she said. “People don’t understand how dry these bones were. I think that got lost in the trial. We’re revisiting the science. I think some of it got confused in the spin.”
Her testimony remains an oft-debated topic, especially on the Internet.
On OrlandoSentinel.com, Turtlepace writes: “Dr. Garavaglia is a respected pathologist, but her hypothesis of ‘homicide’ is based on non-medical factors. Just because Caylee’s body was abandoned in a garbage bag … and Casey lied about Caylee being kidnapped does not disprove that Caylee drowned.”
But knightryder counters: “I think it’s kind of weird that a person’s first assumption to a child’s skeleton partially in plastic bags discovered in a swamp area would equate to accident … not homicide, manslaughter or neglect. I think it’s absurd to think that a good mother lies about her dead child. 31 days. What’s wrong with that picture?”
Garavaglia scoffed at hearing that Baez plans to address the American Academy of Forensic Sciences’ annual meeting in Atlanta in February.
“I found it outrageous,” Garavaglia said. “I know what we said was scientifically based from this office. I find it disturbing they would invite Jose Baez to a scientific meeting.”
Baez will speak at three sessions, according to the group’s website. One is called “Fantasy of Forensics: How Junk Science Failed to Persuade the Jury in the Casey Anthony Case.” Another session is titled “Flawed Forensics: Recognizing and Challenging Misleading Forensic Evidence and Disingenuous Expert Testimony.”
As for her special, Garavaglia said she was taking a low-key approach to the program and plans to make it her last word on the Anthony case.
“I just want to set the record straight about what happened.”

I doubt anyone is "paying for" anything connected to the LMS. I'll bet most of it is donated by those seeking personal satisfaction, such as future monetary gain, or maybe just for "boasting" privileges...

I think I'll write a book. "My Life... before and after the Caylee Anthony murder". I'll only charge $5 and maybe, just possibly, it will interest someone enough to buy one! just kidding
