what is the dynamic between Casey and Lee seems to be the question

I know that casey shed more tears over her brother today than anyone has seen her cry for anything ever.

I also know that Lee's reaction to her pregnancy etc was kind of weird. "What the hell is that!?"

My personal vibe i got from it all is that Lee did a bit more than just touch his sister, for who knows how long or how often, and to some extent he felt he could have been Caylees father, otherwise i don't see the reason for feeling betrayed and feeling left out.

If he did more than 'touch' her as she claims, she also lied to defend him by lessening what he did...which is more than she has done for her dad who she says outright molested her.

We all know caylee was not a child between Lee and Casey as a DNA test was given and it was proven to show he wasn't, but that doesn't mean that he did not believe to some extent for a while that he was the father, if he was fooling around with casey.

i cant believe i just typed that all out. It sounds like something for a really gross movie about incest...and i hope the 'vibe' everyone is getting about the two is wrong, personally.

Though it would explain a little bit as to how she is so screwed up i guess. Especially if lying to defend him and how far it all went..since that shows she actually cares about his welfare...at least as much as casey could care about anything anyhow.

Also, if cindy did not name Caylee, and it instead was Casey..who combined her name with her brothers name into a name for her daughter...

Cindy Anthony took the stand once again in the murder trial of her daughter, Casey Anthony, who is charged with killing her daughter Caylee in June of 2008.
The courtroom appeared ready for more stunning revelations. During yesterday’s testimony, Cindy Anthony stated that she was the one who had performed chloroform-related searches on the home computer, as well as a number of other keyword terms that prosecutors had attributed to Casey Anthony. Anthony also stated that supposed decomposition stains in daughter Casey’s car were there when the car had been purchased.

Did Caylee's shorts still fit?

First off today, defense attorney Baez showed a well-known video of Casey Anthony playing with her daughter, lying on her back balancing Caylee on her knees. At the sight of the video, Cindy began quietly weeping, while Casey was seen smiling and crying at the defense table. The shorts worn by Caylee in the video had been found in December of 2008 on her small skeletal remains.

Cindy Anthony stated that her granddaughter had grown quite a bit since that video had been taken, and prior to her death. The defense has stated that the shorts, found with Caylee's skeletal remains, should have not been on the body, as they no longer fit her.

The jury’s focus was then moved to the swimming pool, located in the yard of the Anthony home, and photos were shown of the removable ladder connected to it. A storage location on the ground by the pool was also shown, where the ladder was placed when not in use.

While photos of Cindy helping her granddaughter Caylee into the pool were shown, prosecution attorney Linda Drane Burdick objected to each and every one. Photos shown indicated that Caylee typically wore a safety vest while in the pool, and according to Cindy, someone was always present to ensure Caylee’s safety when she swam there, typically 3-4 times a week.

In a likely bid to help the defense theory that Caylee accidentally drowned in the Anthony pool in June of 2008, a photo of Caylee when she was older was shown, depicting her opening a heavy sliding glass door leading outside to where the pool is located.

Cindy was asked about June 16, 2008, the day she had found the ladder attached to the pool and the side gate open. She stated she was concerned at finding this, and had told coworkers about it, and had also called her husband George to ask about it.

What exactly is the defense's theory?

When Baez asked Cindy about marital problems she had been having with George during this time, the State objected, and the question was left unanswered. Cindy was excused, as was the jury, in order for Judge Belvin Perry to question the attorneys present.

Perry questioned Baez about the defense’s accidental drowning theory, asking “What is your theory of defense? Someone explain it to me.” It was clear that Perry needed to know the defense theory was not changing, in order to determine which pieces of evidence to allow - likely due to the number of objections from the State. “You cannot use the broad blanket of theory of defense to get anything and everything in,” said Perry.

In attendance in the courtroom as an observer was Judge Strickland, who had been the judge on this case prior to Perry, recusing himself after allegations from the defense that he’d had an inappropriate relationship with a blogger who had been critical of Casey Anthony.

When the jury returned, Baez asked Cindy Anthony if she had told Orange County Sheriff’s Office Detective Yuri Melich about the ladder being left up, and Cindy replied yes. She was not allowed to state when she had mentioned it, based on another objection by the State.

Prosecutors have doubts about Caylee's size

Under cross-examination, Linda Drane Burdick asked Cindy Anthony whether or not Caylee was wearing diapers in 2008, and Cindy replied that her granddaughter had been potty trained since early 2008, although she had required pull-ups from time to time.

The prosecution then led Cindy through a series of photos showing items of Caylee’s clothing, asking who typically purchased them. Cindy replied that she and Casey would purchase Caylee’s clothing, primarily at Target. When asked Caylee’s clothing size, Cindy replied 2T and 3T.

The defense has previously stated that the shorts shown in the video had no longer fit Caylee when she disappeared - implying that whoever was with her might not have known her clothing size - perhaps a stranger? Burdick worked against this theory today by relating to the jury that due to Caylee thinning out as she grew, as well as no longer wearing bulky diapers, perhaps some of her earlier clothing still fit - including the shorts from the video.

Cindy was then asked about the weight of the removable ladder, and whether or not she believed Caylee could have put it up by herself. Cindy replied that she did not think Caylee could have picked up or placed the ladder herself. Cindy stated that the sliding glass door was also heavy and Caylee could open it, there was “no way” Caylee could have opened the gate leading to the pool.

When asked how she contacted George after finding the gate open and ladder in place, CIndy stated that it was either via cell phone or home phone, but that she was unsure as to which.

Burdick then showed a copy of Cindy’s timecard for June 16, 2008, and asked her if she had been working on that day. Cindy admitted that she hasn’t reviewed the timesheet in 3 years, but believed that she had worked that entire week.

Cindy was asked by Burdick if her daughter Casey had ever told her that Caylee had drowned in the pool. To this, Cindy stated that Casey had never mentioned this as a possibility, only that Caylee had been kidnapped.

Lee Anthony breaks down on the stand

Casey’s brother Lee Anthony was then recalled to the stand, and gave testimony that he had owned the white Pontiac Sunfire prior to Casey, in the years 2000 - 2005. A photo of trunk was shown to the jury, and Lee stated that there were three stains in the trunk of the car, just outside of the tire cover, when the car had been purchased, confirming his mother Cindy’s testimony yesterday.

The prosecution team has alleged that the stains in the trunk had been from Caylee Anthony’s body decaying there after her death in June of 2008, at least for a few days. Testimony has been mixed as to whether or not the stain was from decomposition-related fluids, or that a foul odor from the car trunk had been from Caylee’s body allegedly having been in the trunk, or a trash bag found in the trunk.

Lee was asked by defense attorney Jose Baez when he first noticed Casey was pregnant, and the State objected. Lee was allowed to continue, stating that when he lived at the Anthony home, he saw Casey come out of the bathroom one day, and he noticed her mid-section. According to Lee, when he asked his sister, “Excuse me, what the Hell is that,” Casey waved him off. A few days later he confronted his mother about the information. Lee’s testimony was peppered with objections by Burdick.

The next time Lee saw his sister was in the middle of 2005, not long before she gave birth to Caylee, when Casey picked him up at the airport. At this time, it was “brutally honest that she was pregnant at that moment,” according to Lee.

At one point, Judge Perry, in response to the State’s numerous objections, had to stop them and state “Let (Baez) finish asking the question. Sit down.”

Baez asked if there had been any other discussions with Cindy that had anything to do with Casey being pregnant, and Lee stated they had “never spoke about it again,” all the way up to Caylee’s birth.

Lee was asked if when Caylee was born, had he visited the hospital, to which Lee replied, “No - I was a little hurt, just didn’t want to be there.” When asked if he been angry at the time, Lee began to break down on the stand, through tears stating that he had been very angry with his “mom and sister, at everyone in general, that they didn’t want to include me, and didn’t find it important enough to tell me after I already asked.” At this display, Casey began to cry as well.

Lee denied that there were any other reasons he had been angry, and lunch was called. George, Cindy and Lee Anthony were seen waiting for the defense team, then leaving the courtroom with them. Cindy was seen in the elevator comforting Lee as they left the courtroom.

Why is Lee helping the defense?

After returning from lunch, Lee Anthony retook the stand, and was cross-examined by prosecution attorney Jeff Ashton, who brought up the trunk photo again, circling a fourth stain, and asking Lee if that stain had been there when the car was purchased - Lee’s response was no, but he denied there having been a stench to the car.

When asked why he refused to meet with the State’s team, Lee stated he had reached out to the defense team because he wanted to provide important information to Baez, information he had not yet provided in today’s court testimony.

When asked again about Casey’s pregnancy, Lee stated that when he inquired about it, he was told to “let it go,” and to “give it a rest.” Lee also detailed his parent’s “over the top” redecorating of an office room for the pending arrival of Caylee. “Winnie the Pooh was everywhere.” When asked if a baby shower had been held for Casey, Lee stated that if there had been one, he had not been invited to it.

Ashton questioned the earlier emotional outburst by Lee, asking him why he had not cried during earlier depositions, and Lee replied it was due to “regrets,” for not having been there more for Casey and the baby. Under defense redirected questioning about the emotional differences between testifying under oath for a deposition and in a courtroom, Lee replied, “I don’t want to be here. I don’t want my sister to be here. I don’t want my parents to be here.”

Under redirect back to the prosecution, Ashton called into question differences in his testimony today and statements made in earlier depositions, inferring having an issue with Lee’s new-found cooperation with the defense over the State.

Cindy Anthony then returned to the stand, and stated that Casey’s baby shower was after Caylee was born, because Caylee had been born a month early. Cindy stated that no men, including Lee, were invited or present at the shower. A photo from the wedding of Cindy’s brother was then shown, showing Cindy of Casey standing together, and Cindy stated that she did not know her daughter was pregnant at the time

Stolen credit card information surfaces

Orange County Sheriff Deputy Ryan Eberlin was then called to the stand, and detailed responding to a call at the Anthony home. When asked whether or not he noted any foul odor coming from Casey’s white Pontiac Sunbird, he stated no. He also stated to the court that he had handcuffed Casey and put her in his car, until he was told to remove the cuffs and release her by a Sergeant.

Prosecutors leaped on the handcuffing issue, asking Eberlin why he had done so. Eberlin replied that Cindy had pulled him aside, and informed him that Casey had stolen her credit card and that she wanted to press charges. (These charges were settled in early 2010 in another case - Casey paid over $5000 in court costs and was sentenced at that time to time already served.)

Again, questions about the duct tape

Defense attorney Cheney Mason then called Orange County Sheriff Corporal Eric Edwards to the stand, and asked him about Linda Tinelli - a volunteer with Texas EquuSearch, a missing children search organization. Edwards has spoken with Tinelli about duct tape used in conjunction with the search efforts.

Edwards stated that he had asked Tinelli about talking with the George and Cindy Anthony, and secretly taping the conversation. At this point Judge Perry questioned the relevancy of this line of questioning, and Mason replied that it would show the investigation was only focused on Casey and getting incriminating info about her from her parents. Perry concluded that this line of questioning was ultimately not relevant to the defense’s stated theory.

When Linda Tinelli was called to the stand, she confirmed that she had used duct tape to tape down tablecloths on tables and to tape up missing posters.

Roy Kronk is finally mentioned

Orange County Sheriff’s Office Detective Yuri Melich was returned to the stand, one of many appearances he has made since the trial began. He discussed picking up Casey’s car, and concerns he had that Casey might hurt herself during the investigation, as well as the time he began to figure out that the nanny referred to as “Zanny” never really existed.

Utility worker Roy Kronk, who repeatedly called in information leading to the discovery of Caylee Anthony’s body, was brought up at this time, and Melich was questioned about investigations into Kronk himself. When a previous tip provided by Kronk to sheriffs was brought to him, Melich said that a cadaver dog had already searched that area, and to not follow up on it.

This information might go a long way for the defense toward proving that Caylee Anthony was placed in the wooded area near the Anthony home much later than the prosecution theorizes.

Melich stated that he had subpoenaed George Anthony and Roy Kronk’s phone records for June-Dec of 2008, including cell tower info from Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, although Kronk’s computer was never confiscated. Melich stated he likely collected gas cans used by Casey Anthony a few days after he heard about an argument between father George Anthony and Casey related to use of the cans. One of the cans is alleged to have duct tape on it similar to the tape found on Caylee Anthony’s body.

The jury was then dismissed for the day, and both side’s lawyers met with Judge Perry.

Allegations of misconduct, trial timeline discussed

Defense attorney Jose Baez estimated he would likely be done with his side of the case by next Wednesday or Thursday, and the prosecution said their rebuttal would take 1-2 days, followed by closing arguments. Perry said they would have “half a day or until the jury goes to sleep, whichever comes first,” for closing arguments.

At this point Baez stated that the phone records for George Anthony and Roy Kronk that Melich mentioned today were for the time period of June - Dec 2008; however the defense had only received 2 weeks’ worth. When asked about the discrepancy by Judge Perry, attorney Burdick for the prosecution stated that the information was likely on CDs provided long ago, and that Baez subpoenaed these records himself already. Burdick promised to speak with Melich about the records, and to compare information with Baez. “It’s a little late in the day to go after red herrings,” said Judge Perry.

Defense attorney Mason referred to a phone call received by prosecutor Ashton’s office from the boss of William Rodriguez, one of the defense’s key witnesses. Mason alleged that Rodriguez had been threatened by his employer with being fired if he testified, and that Ashton requested more time to review his deposition knowing Rodriguez was “in the hot seat.” Baez said he would file a motion concerning this, and Ashton replied “bring it on.” Perry said he would find out if Rodriguez sought permission from the Department of Defense to continue testimony.

After stating jury instruction should take him about 45 minutes, Perry recounted from memory possible lesser offenses for Casey Anthony the prosecution could request from the jury, if Anthony were found guilty. These offenses included felony murder, second degree murder, aggravated manslaughter, manslaughter, aggravated child abuse, lesser child abuse, battery, and giving false information to police officers, among others.

Testimony will continue tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. EST.

Sassy those two, Casey and Lee, have the strangest brother, sister relationship I have ever seen.

I have never gotten over him calling out CMA at the Memorial service for Caylee with both Cindy and George rubbing on him.

I always thought The Addams Family was a strange group but The Anthony Family have them beat. Wow!

Someone said something that I thought was interesting what if Casey was giving small doses of chloroform to the smaller dog to see how much it took to knock the dog out? Thats why the dog was lethargic maybe?

WEIGHING THE EVIDENCE

It is up to you to decide what evidence is reliable. You should use your common sense in deciding which is the best evidence, and which evidence should not be relied upon in considering your verdict. You may find some of the evidence not reliable, or less reliable than other evidence. You should consider how the witnesses acted, as well as what they said. Some things you should consider are:

1. Did the witness seem to have an opportunity to see and know the things about which the witness testified?
2. Did the witness seem to have an accurate memory?
3. Was the witness honest and straightforward in answering the attorneys' questions?
4. Did the witness have some interest in how the case should be decided?
5. Does the witness's testimony agree with the other testimony and other evidence in the case? The instructions covered under paragraphs numbered 6 through 10, inclusive, are not common to all cases. These numbered paragraphs should be included only as required by the evidence.
6. Has the witness been offered or received any money, preferred
treatment, or other benefit in order to get the witness to testify?
7. Had any pressure or threat been used against the witness that affected the truth of the witness's testimony?
8. Did the witness at some other time make a statement that is inconsistent with the testimony [he] [she] gave in court?
9. Was it proved that the witness had been convicted of a crime?

My question - how will you feel if Casey is found innocent?

I will be with BJ, stabbing myself while she stabs herself. It certainly isn't as black and white in a trial, as it all seemed before.
Casey better go in hiding, or move to some remote place, as she won't last long on the outside.

I think Im going to have a hard time coming down from this "addiction"
and if she is found innocent Im going to try to put it out of my mind - especially if I hear that her family is raking in the dough with interviews, book, and made for TV movies. Bang my head against a wall? Its a distinct possibility!

I found LA testimony weird about feeling left out of the Pregnancy of his Sister. I do agree with Sassy about that just not sitting well with me considering the FBI ran a DNA test to see if LA was daddy/uncle.

The State is not done yet. I would say the State is still winning in the long run. I can not even think about the jury finding her innocent. I just don't see that happening. But if she walks I will be one bitter Mom/Grandma.

I think premeditation is out of the window now. What won me over on premed. were the searches. CA took care of that. Juror 4 worries me from what I have read. Like her mind is already made up. I do not think she will get LWOP. Twenty years maybe. 3 yrs. already served. 17 left. 42 yrs. old...she would be 'free'. Not good enough for me.

Not good enough for me either Cherylz. I hope others will hang on to hope and keep praying for justice. It is not over yet. LB and JA are excellent Prosecutors. If KC gets life in prison I can live with that..

Jurors at the Casey Anthony murder trial heard more tearful testimony on Friday from Ms. Anthony’s mother, Cindy, and her brother, Lee, who broke down after admitting he felt hurt that no one in the family would discuss with him Casey’s pregnancy.

“I was very angry at my mom and my sister, that they didn’t want to include me and didn’t find it important enough to tell me,” Lee Anthony said on the witness stand, his voice breaking.

Tears ran down his face. “I was very hurt,” he added.

Across the courtroom, defendant Ms. Anthony was also crying, dabbing her face with a tissue.

The emotional moment was important for the defense case because it seems to support claims that the Anthony family was strangely dysfunctional – to the extent that Mrs. Anthony did not recognize her daughter was expecting a child until seven months into the pregnancy, that Ms. Anthony was apparently unable to admit her condition to her mother or anyone else, and that no one in the family acknowledged the obvious situation to Mr. Anthony, who lived in the bedroom next to Casey’s.

Mr. Anthony was so upset at the exclusion, he testified, that he declined to visit Ms. Anthony and the newborn baby, Caylee, at the hospital.

I watched Dr. Drew tonight. I like/respect Dr Drew. Watch him every season on Celeb. Rehab. He is not one for theatrics, etc...He is a Psychiatrist. He stated tonight there is something "weird" about the relationship btwn. KC and LA. He validated my feelings.

I was on jury duty once. We were asked to answer some questions......what part of town did we live, what were our hobbies, etc. The hobby of one of the potential jurors was watching videos; "NO, I don't watch TV", she said. When asked what kind of videos she watched she answered, "I tape tv shows and watch them later". Nuff said!
Please, God, don't let any of the jurors on this case have this kind of mentality!

I know BJ. Through my walk in life I have met (as all of us I am sure) ppl. of all walks of life. There are those with book smarts, street smarts and no smarts! A juror has to rely on their past experiences, decision making skills and critical thinking skills...and that scares me!!

artgal, I'm going to be madder than hell if Casey is found not guilty and will have lost all faith in our criminal justice system. It sickens me when I hear comments from attorneys saying the defense would have been more believable if they had left out the molestation and George helping Casey to cover up the accident. This is a search for the TRUTH and justice for Caylee, not a stage play waiting for the next morning reviews. Caylee needs a Hero and I don't see anyone in her family that fits the bill.

If cindy...big if...can prove she is really the one who performed those searches though (again, a big if..and notice the state did not have any proof today to discredit that) Why would nobody be more open to believing its a possibility there was some sort of neglectful accident?

As the defense gets more and more help, i keep hoping everyone is being honest. As scary as drowning would be for a little girl, at least she would not have died at the hands of her mother...at least not directly.

With professionals weighing in on casey and lee, im convinced more than ever there is indeed something that went on there. If casey named caylee, and cindy had no part, its entirely possible casey was a tad bit obsessed with her brother.

Oh dear caylee...if only you could tell us yourself what happened...

Cindy says she did the computer search for chloroform, not Casey.
So what message is Cindy trying to send us? The fact remains that Caylee is dead. How does she think her death happened?
Cindy said that she stopped looking for the nanny a couple months ago, so she she no longer believes that the nanny kidnapped and killed Caylee.
She walks out of the courtroom, hand in hand with George, who is accused of molesting Casey and covering up Caylee's drowning. Does she believe the accusations against George but has forgiven him?
What the hell does Cindy want everyone to believe happened to Caylee if she doesn't want us to believe that Casey killed her?
Cindy needs to make a statement and tell us what she really thinks.

Another interesting day, of which I have only heard about the testimony other than a bit this morning and must catch up!

As far as premeditation with regard to instruction to the jury (per prior legal reference that I do not recall), there is no time requirement. Making a decision to put duct tape over the mouth of a child's face to stop breathing is premeditated murder!

A journalist was saying today that the jury has to decide who to believe...I do not think that there has been any tipping of the scales at this stage. A whole heap of strong prosecution evidence has not been touched by the defense.

Bill Schaeffer explains that we go in with the defendent's presumption of innocence, and in this case we believe that this presumption has been replaced by an assumption of guilt, through the evidence of the prosecution. The weight of that evidence must be successfully overcome to create a reasonable doubt. (paraphrased)

I do not see how the computer search issue with Cindy will do that. She did not admit to entering "How to make chloroform" which IS what the records show...so who did? Her testimony does not explain away that OR all of the evidence unrelated to chloroform to create reasonable doubt? It does however create confusion! IMHO

And the shorts and the ladder...none of it seems to be terribly convincing...and based on the instructions to the jury, these testimonies will have to be evaluated for credibility.

I think Casey is still at great risk for a conviction of 1st degree murder. The duct tape eveidence is not going anywhere....if Casey gets on the stand and says that she saw her dad put it on....oh boy, I will die, but that will surely never fly!

Tomorrow I at least get to watch live! :-)

Just had a thought. Is it possible that the reason that no one told Lee that Casey was pregnant was because Casey said Lee was the baby daddy......rather than admit to her parents that she "had sex"? Might be a far fetch, but then with this family you just never know.

I want the Prosecution to ask Cindy why she deleted those searches for Chloroform and nothing else?

I want the Prosecution to call the payroll person from Cindy's old job to the stand and ask them "Why if they were concerned about their employees receiving overtime did they allow Cindy's time sheet to depict she was working when she claims she was at home on her computer?"

I would love to believe that Sassy. That Caylee did not die at the hands of her Mother. But I do believe that is exactly what happened. I hope the jury is not believing all this smoke and mirrors type testimony. I think that ladder was left on the pool as KC thought about making it look like an accident. She changed her mind and I believe why she changed her mind about staging an accident in one word TOXICOLOGY.

Bozo DOES want Dr. Furton to present these new opinions about how the chloroform got into the trunk, but he did not file a supplemental report, and JA is incensed about it. JP said that he will have to see the report before he can rule.

I don't know what's going on, but I bet JP is raking Bozo over the coals...He has stressed time and again about taking care of these matters before 9:00, and now here we are at 9:25....

When the deputy opened the door, I saw KC back in a room with that Michelle Medina (Bozo's associate). There was a glass window.

HLN keeps replaying CA testimony yesterday. To me it seems that her grief was not the same as when she testified for the State. When she put her head down and could not compose her self that was real grief. I hope the jury is seeing that as well.
